In 2024 EN GARDE was appointed by Play International to conduct a safeguarding audit of the NGO Play International’s child protection and safeguarding policies and procedures and to design a safeguarding diagnostic tool to assess the child protection and safeguarding capacity of the sport academies taking part in the project “Strengthening Sports and Inclusive Academies Program in Africa”.
EN GARDE was also asked to develop a safeguarding training plan and training materials to educate and train the academies’ management staff and Play International Staff. EN GARDE delivered a series of online and physical training sessions to academies participants from Marocco, Djibouti, Mauritania, Senegal and Togo. As part of this work, EN GARDE also conducted several safeguarding risk assessments in different sport academies in Senegal.
